Osteofos 70 — Sodium Alendronate 70 mg (4 Tablets)

Osteofos 70 is recommended for use in the following cases:

• 🔹 Postmenopausal Osteoporosis: Treatment and prevention of bone fragility in women during menopause.
• 🔹 Osteoporosis in Men: Increasing bone strength and prevention of fractures in men.
• 🔹 Glucocorticoid-induced Osteoporosis: Treatment and prevention of bone mass loss in patients taking long-term hormonal medications (steroids).
• 🔹 Paget's Disease: Treatment of pathological bone remodeling.

Sales Form: 1 pack contains 4 tablets of 70 mg.

⚠️ IMPORTANT ADMINISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS (to prevent esophageal damage):

• Dosing Regimen: Take strictly once a week, preferably on the same day.
• Timing: Only in the morning, immediately after waking up, on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before the first intake of food, beverages, or other medications).
• Method: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of plain drinking water. Do not take with mineral water, juice, coffee, or tea!
• Body Position: Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking the tablet. You must remain in an upright position (standing or sitting) until you have eaten your first meal.
• Storage: Store in a dry place at temperatures up to 30°C.

• ⛔ Esophageal Disorders: Strictures, achalasia, or other conditions that delay esophageal emptying.
• ⛔ Inability to Stand or Sit Upright: If the patient cannot stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes.
• ⛔ Hypocalcemia: Low blood calcium levels (must be corrected before starting treatment).
• ⛔ Renal Failure: Severe renal impairment.
• ⛔ Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Use is not recommended.
• ⛔ Age: Children under 18 years of age.

When instructions are followed correctly, the drug is well-tolerated, however, the following effects are possible:

• 🔥 Digestive System: Heartburn, epigastric pain, difficulty swallowing, nausea. If severe chest pain or pain behind the breastbone occurs, discontinue use.
• 🦴 Musculoskeletal System: Possible pain in bones, joints, or muscles (usually mild).
• 🤕 General: Headache, abdominal bloating, constipation, or diarrhea.
• 🦷 Special Cases (rare): Osteonecrosis of the jaw (mostly associated with invasive dental procedures); therefore, a dental exam is recommended before starting treatment.
• ⚠️ Important: It is recommended to take calcium and Vitamin D supplements if their dietary intake is insufficient.
