Imaxen 400 Tablets — Imatinib 400 mg (14 Tabs) Everest

Prescribed by hematologists/oncologists for:

• 🔹 Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML): For Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) CML in chronic, accelerated, or blast crisis phases.
• 🔹 Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): Ph+ ALL usually in combination with chemotherapy.
• 🔹 Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST): For c-KIT positive unresectable and/or metastatic malignant tumors, or as adjuvant treatment after surgery.

Sales Unit: Bottle containing 14 film-coated tablets (400 mg strength).

⚠️ APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

• How to Take: Take with a meal and a large glass of water (approx. 200ml) to minimize gastrointestinal irritation.
• Dosage: The recommended dose for chronic phase CML is 400 mg (1 tablet) once daily. Higher doses (600 mg or 800 mg) may be used in advanced stages.
• Administration: If unable to swallow, the tablet may be dispersed in a glass of water or apple juice (avoid grapefruit juice).
• ✋ Consistency: Take at the same time every day.

• ⛔ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Contraindicated due to risk of fetal harm.
• Hypersensitivity to Imatinib.
• Children under 2 years of age.
• Severe hepatic or renal impairment (requires caution).
• Driving or operating machinery if dizziness or blurred vision occurs.

Side effects are generally manageable. Common reactions include:

• 🌊 Fluid Retention: Edema (swelling around eyes, ankles). Regular weight monitoring is advised.
• 🤢 Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (mitigated by taking with food).
• 🦵 Musculoskeletal: Muscle cramps, bone or joint pain.
• 💅 Skin: Rash, itching.
• 🥱 Hematologic: Neutropenia or thrombocytopenia (low blood counts).
