Lastet — Etoposide 100 mg
Lastet Injection is a sterile concentrate for intravenous infusion containing Etoposide (100 mg / 5 ml).

Product Form:
Supplied as a 5 ml vial containing 100 mg of Etoposide (20 mg/ml). It acts by inhibiting Topoisomerase II, leading to DNA strand breaks in cancer cells.
✅ Usage: Designed for hospital use in multi-drug chemotherapy protocols.
Indicated for the treatment of:
- Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC): Often used in combination with Cisplatin.
- Testicular Cancer: Refractory non-seminomatous germ cell tumors.
- Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas.
- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
⚠️ For Slow Intravenous Infusion ONLY.
Administration Guidelines:
- 🚫 NO Rapid Injection: Rapid push causes severe hypotension (low blood pressure). Administer over at least 30–60 minutes.
- 💧 Must be Diluted: Dilute the concentrate in 0.9% Sodium Chloride or 5% Dextrose. Final concentration should not exceed 0.4 mg/ml to prevent precipitation.
Warning: Extravasation (leakage under skin) causes severe tissue necrosis. Do not administer IM or SC.
- Severe bone marrow depression (Neutrophils < 1500/mm³, Platelets < 75,000/mm³).
- Severe hepatic or renal impairment.
- Hypersensitivity to Etoposide.
- Pregnancy.
Adverse reactions associated with IV administration:
- Hypotension: Related to rapid infusion rate.
- Myelosuppression: Leukopenia is the dose-limiting toxicity. Monitor blood counts.
- Alopecia: Reversible hair loss occurs in most patients.
- Nausea and vomiting.
