Ozempic 1 — Semaglutide 1 mg (1 Pen / 4 Doses)

Ozempic 1 mg is prescribed to patients for the following purposes:

• 🔹 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: To improve blood glucose control as monotherapy or in combination with other anti-diabetic medications.
• 🔹 Prevention of Complications: Reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications in adult patients with type 2 diabetes.
• 🔹 Obesity Treatment: Used (including off-label) for long-term weight reduction in patients with BMI >30 kg/m² or >27 kg/m² in the presence of metabolic disorders.

Sales Form: 1 pre-filled pen (3 ml of solution) containing 4 doses of 1 mg of semaglutide.

⚠️ INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

• Dosage Regimen: The drug is administered once a week. The 1 mg dosage is usually prescribed after a gradual dose escalation phase (from 0.25 mg and 0.5 mg) to minimize side effects.
• Method of Administration: Subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Do not administer intramuscularly or intravenously!
• Schedule Flexibility: The day of administration can be changed if necessary, provided the interval between injections is at least 3 days (72 hours).
• Storage: Store the unused pen in the refrigerator (2°C–8°C). Do not freeze! The pen in use can be stored at temperatures up to 30°C or in the refrigerator for 6–8 weeks (up to 56 days).

• ⛔ Heredity: Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.
• ⛔ Endocrine System: Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
• ⛔ Pregnancy and Lactation: Use of the drug is contraindicated. Treatment should be stopped 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
• ⛔ Type of Diabetes: Not intended for patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
• ⛔ GI Tract: Severe gastric diseases (gastroparesis) or a history of pancreatitis.
• ⛔ Age: Safety for use in children under 18 years of age has not been confirmed.

Side effects most often involve the digestive system at the beginning of therapy:

• 🤢 GI Tract (very common): Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation. The intensity of symptoms usually decreases over time.
• 🍽️ Metabolism: Significant decrease in appetite, aversion to food, risk of hypoglycemia (when used with insulin).
• 👁️ Vision: Patients with diabetes may experience a temporary worsening of diabetic retinopathy.
• 🏃‍♂️ General: Fatigue, changes in taste perception, dizziness.
• ⚠️ Serious Warnings: If acute abdominal pain occurs (potential pancreatitis), discontinue use immediately and consult a physician.
