Ozempic 1 — Semaglutide 1 mg (1 Pen / 4 Doses)
Ozempic 1 mg (Semaglutide) is an innovative injectable medication from the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonist group, designed for effective control of type 2 diabetes and correction of excess body weight. Semaglutide mimics the action of a natural hormone produced in the gut after meals, helping the body regulate blood sugar levels and suppress the feeling of hunger.
Manufacturer: Novo Nordisk, Denmark. The 1 mg dosage is a full maintenance dose that provides a powerful therapeutic effect: a significant reduction in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels and stable weight loss through fat tissue reduction and appetite control.
Key Features:
- ✅ Triple Action: Ozempic stimulates insulin production only when sugar levels are high, suppresses excessive glucagon secretion, and slows gastric emptying.
- ✅ Cardiovascular Protection: The drug is proven to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
- ✅ Convenience: The pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 1 mg each, intended for 4 weeks of treatment (one injection per week).
Ozempic 1 mg is prescribed to patients for the following purposes:
- 🔹 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: To improve blood glucose control as monotherapy or in combination with other anti-diabetic medications.
- 🔹 Prevention of Complications: Reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications in adult patients with type 2 diabetes.
- 🔹 Obesity Treatment: Used (including off-label) for long-term weight reduction in patients with BMI >30 kg/m² or >27 kg/m² in the presence of metabolic disorders.
Sales Form: 1 pre-filled pen (3 ml of solution) containing 4 doses of 1 mg of semaglutide.
