X-Vir (Entecavir) 1 mg — 30 Tablets
X-Vir 1 mg is a high-strength antiviral medication containing Entecavir (1 mg).
Manufacturer: Natco Pharma (India). Generic equivalent of Baraclude 1 mg.
⚠️ DOSAGE ALERT: 1 MG (DOUBLE STRENGTH)
This dose is specifically indicated for Lamivudine-Refractory patients (those whose virus has mutated and no longer responds to Lamivudine therapy) or patients with decompensated liver disease.
Note: Treatment-naive patients usually require the lower 0.5 mg dose.
Indicated for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B virus infection in adults with:
- History of Hepatitis B viremia while receiving Lamivudine therapy (Lamivudine-resistance).
- Decompensated liver disease (cirrhosis with complications).
Dose: One tablet (1 mg) once daily.
⚠️ CRITICAL INSTRUCTION: EMPTY STOMACH
Food drastically reduces the drug's absorption. You must take X-Vir:
- 🚫 At least 2 hours after a meal.
- 🚫 And at least 2 hours before the next meal.
Warning: Severe acute exacerbations of hepatitis B have been reported in patients who have discontinued anti-hepatitis B therapy.
- HIV/HBV Co-infection: Do not use in patients with HIV who are not on effective antiretroviral therapy (risk of HIV resistance).
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Hypersensitivity to Entecavir.
Watch for signs of:
- Lactic Acidosis: A serious metabolic condition (muscle pain, difficult breathing, cold extremities).
- Hepatomegaly with Steatosis: Enlargement of the liver.
- Common: Headache, fatigue, nausea.
