Abiraxen Tablets — Abiraterone 250 mg (28 Tabs) Everest

Prescribed by oncologists for the treatment of adult men with:

• 🔹 Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC): For patients who are asymptomatic/mildly symptomatic or those whose disease has progressed on or after a docetaxel-based chemotherapy regimen.
• 🔹 Metastatic High-Risk Castration-Sensitive Prostate Cancer (mHSPC): In combination with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT).

Sales Unit: Film-coated tablets, 250 mg strength.

⚠️ APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

• Standard Dosage: 1000 mg (four 250 mg tablets) taken orally once daily.
• Critical Administration Rule: Take on an empty stomach. No food should be consumed for at least 2 hours before and 1 hour after the dose. Taking with food significantly increases absorption and risk of toxicity.
• 💊 Co-administration: Must be taken with low-dose prednisone or prednisolone as prescribed to manage fluid retention and hypertension.
• Method: Swallow tablets whole with water. Do not crush or chew.

• ⛔ Women & Pregnancy: Strictly contraindicated. Pregnant women should not even handle the tablets without protection (Category X).
• Hypersensitivity to Abiraterone Acetate.
• Severe hepatic impairment (liver failure).
• Pediatric use is not permitted.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure, serum potassium, and liver enzymes is mandatory. Potential side effects include:

• 💧 Fluid Retention: Peripheral edema (swelling of legs/feet).
• 🍌 Hypokalemia: Low blood potassium levels.
• 📈 Hypertension: High blood pressure.
• 🔶 Hepatotoxicity: Elevated liver enzymes (ALT/AST).
