Azarest Tablets — Azacitidine 300 mg (14 Tabs) Everest

Prescribed by hematologists for adult patients with:

• 🔹 Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): As maintenance treatment for patients who achieved first complete remission (CR) or complete remission with incomplete blood count recovery (CRi) following intensive induction chemotherapy and are not able to complete intensive curative therapy (like HSCT).

Sales Unit: Bottle containing 14 film-coated tablets (300 mg strength).

⚠️ APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

• Standard Dosage: 300 mg (one tablet) taken orally once daily.
• Cycle Schedule: Take for 14 consecutive days, followed by a 14-day rest period (28-day treatment cycle).
• Administration: Swallow whole with water. Can be taken with or without food. Do not crush, chew, or split.
• ✋ Antiemetic Prophylaxis: Administer an antiemetic 30 minutes prior to each dose to prevent nausea.
• ⚠️ Warning: Do not substitute Azarest tablets for azacitidine injections.

• ⛔ Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Strictly contraindicated. Can cause fetal harm. Effective contraception is mandatory.
• Hypersensitivity to Azacitidine.
• Advanced malignant hepatic tumors.
• Pediatric patients (safety not established).

Common side effects requiring management include:

• 🤢 Gastrointestinal: Nausea and vomiting (very common), diarrhea, constipation. Antiemetics are strongly recommended.
• 🩸 Hematologic: Neutropenia (low white blood cells), thrombocytopenia (low platelets), anemia.
• 😴 General: Fatigue, asthenia, decreased appetite.
• 🦠 Infections: Increased susceptibility to infections (e.g., pneumonia).
