Nindanib (Nintedanib) Capsules
Nindanib 150 (Nintedanib 150 mg) is a potent antifibrotic medication, a generic version of Ofev, manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.
It acts as a tyrosine kinase inhibitor aimed at treating severe lung conditions characterized by scarring (fibrosis). By blocking specific growth factor receptors, Nindanib inhibits the pathways that lead to the proliferation of fibrous tissue in the lungs.
Key Mechanism:
It targets the underlying mechanism of fibrosis, effectively slowing down the decline in lung function and preserving breathing capacity in patients with chronic lung diseases.
✅ Benefit: Proven to slow the rate of decline in Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) and reduce the risk of acute exacerbations.
Indicated for the treatment of adults with:
- 🫁 Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF): To slow disease progression.
- 🧬 Systemic Sclerosis-associated ILD: (SSc-ILD) to treat interstitial lung disease associated with scleroderma.
