Ventoxen 100 mg (Venetoclax) is a cutting-edge targeted therapy drug and a generic equivalent to Venclexta. It is a first-in-class BCL-2 inhibitor that induces programmed cell death (apoptosis) in cancer cells.

Manufacturer: Everest Pharmaceuticals (Bangladesh). ⚠️ Note: Contains 60 tablets per bottle. The drug demonstrates high efficacy even in patients who have relapsed or are refractory to previous chemotherapy treatments.

Key Features:

  • Mechanism of Action: Blocks the BCL-2 protein, which cancer cells use to survive, effectively forcing the tumor to self-destruct.
  • Targeted Therapy: Works systemically to clear leukemia cells from the blood and bone marrow.
  • Accessibility: A high-quality generic from Everest makes this life-saving therapy more affordable.

Prescribed by hematologists/oncologists for:

  • 🔹 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): Either as monotherapy or in combination with Rituximab/Obinutuzumab.
  • 🔹 Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): In newly diagnosed adults who are ineligible for intensive chemotherapy (combined with azacitidine or decitabine).
  • 🔹 Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (SLL).

Sales Unit: 1 Bottle (60 Tablets of 100 mg).

⚠️ STRICT DOSING SCHEDULE REQUIRED:

  • Ramp-Up Phase: Therapy must NEVER start at 100 mg or 400 mg immediately! The dose is gradually increased over 5 weeks (starting at 20 mg) to prevent fatal Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS).
  • Maintenance Dose: Typically 400 mg (four 100 mg tablets) once daily.
  • Administration: Swallow tablets whole with a meal and water. Do not chew or crush.
  • Missed Dose: If within 8 hours, take immediately. If more than 8 hours, skip and resume the next day.

  • Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS): Pre-treatment hydration and monitoring are mandatory.
  • Concomitant use of strong CYP3A inhibitors during the initiation phase.
  • Live vaccines during treatment.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Severe renal impairment (requires dose adjustment).

Regular blood tests are required during therapy. Potential side effects:

  • 🩸 Hematologic: Neutropenia (low white blood cells), anemia, thrombocytopenia.
  • ⚠️ Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS): Rapid breakdown of cancer cells affecting kidneys (critical risk during initiation).
  • 📉 Diarrhea, nausea, fatigue.
  • 🦠 Upper respiratory tract infections.
