Oxaltero Injection is a ready-to-use liquid concentrate containing Oxaliplatin 100 mg / 50 ml.

Product Form:
This formulation is a clear liquid solution (concentration 2 mg/ml). Unlike lyophilized powders, it does not require reconstitution, reducing preparation time and handling risks for hospital pharmacists.
✅ Therapeutic Class: Platinum-based antineoplastic agent used in combination with 5-fluorouracil and leucovorin.
Indicated for the treatment of:
- Colorectal Cancer:
- Adjuvant treatment of Stage III colon cancer after resection.
- Treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
- Advanced Ovarian and Pancreatic cancers (off-label).
⚠️ For Intravenous Infusion Only.
Dilution Instructions:
- Withdraw the required dose from the vial and dilute in 250-500 ml of solvent.
- 🚫 NO SALINE: Do NOT use Sodium Chloride (NaCl) or chloride-containing solutions.
- ✅ YES DEXTROSE: Dilute ONLY in 5% Dextrose Injection.
Infusion Rate: Administer over 2 to 6 hours via a central or peripheral line.
- Severe renal impairment (Creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min).
- Pre-existing peripheral sensitive neuropathy with functional impairment.
- Myelosuppression prior to starting treatment.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Acute Cold Dysesthesia:
Patients must avoid cold exposure for 3-5 days post-infusion to prevent acute laryngopharyngeal dysesthesia (feeling of suffocation):
- ❄️ Avoid ice/cold drinks.
- ❄️ Avoid cold air conditioning or winter air.
- ❄️ Avoid touching cold metal or items from the fridge.
Other effects: Nausea, diarrhea, cumulative neuropathy.
