Pazinib (Pazopanib) 400 mg Tablets
Pazinib is a multi-kinase inhibitor used in targeted cancer therapy. Active ingredient: Pazopanib (400 mg).
Manufacturer: Hetero Healthcare (India). Generic equivalent of Votrient.
How it works:
Pazinib works by inhibiting angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). It blocks the signals within cancer cells that trigger growth and survival, effectively "starving" the tumor.

Indicated for the treatment of:
- Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC): Kidney cancer.
- Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS): In patients who have received prior chemotherapy (excluding adipocytic sarcoma and GIST).
Strength: 400 mg tablet.
Standard Dose: 800 mg (two 400 mg tablets) once daily.
⚠️ CRITICAL ADMINISTRATION WARNING:
Must be taken on an EMPTY STOMACH.
- 🚫 At least 1 hour before a meal.
- 🚫 Or at least 2 hours after a meal.
Taking Pazinib with food dramatically increases drug absorption, leading to potentially fatal liver toxicity. Do not crush the tablets.
- Severe hepatic impairment (Liver failure).
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (Teratogenic).
- Children under 2 years of age (Safety not established).
Monitor for the following:
- Hair Depigmentation: Hair color changes (turning white/grey) are very common but harmless.
- Hepatotoxicity: Elevated liver enzymes. Monthly liver function tests are mandatory.
- Hypertension: High blood pressure.
- Diarrhea.
