Ledifos — Sofosbuvir 400 mg / Ledipasvir 90 mg

Indicated for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C Genotype 1 (1a and 1b) and Genotype 4.

Suitable for:

• Patients with or without compensated cirrhosis.
• Treatment-naive patients.
• Treatment-experienced patients (who failed prior interferon therapy).

Dosage: One tablet taken orally once daily.

Treatment Duration:

• 12 Weeks: Standard for most patients.
• 24 Weeks: Recommended for treatment-experienced patients with cirrhosis.

⚠️ DRUG INTERACTIONS:

• 💊 Antacids/PPIs: Medications like Omeprazole reduce drug absorption. Take Ledifos 4 hours before or after these drugs.
• Can be taken with or without food.

🚫 DANGEROUS INTERACTION: AMIODARONE.

Co-administration with Amiodarone can cause serious symptomatic bradycardia (slow heart rate) or fatal cardiac arrest.

Other Contraindications:

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Children under 12 years (or < 35 kg).
• Co-administration with St. John’s wort or Rosuvastatin (high doses).

Generally very well tolerated. Most common adverse reactions are mild:

• Fatigue.
• Headache.
• Hepatitis B Reactivation: Patients coinfected with HBV may experience a flare-up. Screening for Hepatitis B is mandatory before starting therapy.
