Authenticity check — Cipla
How to verify that the medicine is genuine and not counterfeit.
Verification guide for Daunotec
To verify the authenticity of products manufactured by Cipla Ltd. (India), inspect your packaging against the following 7 essential security steps.
1. Embossed Lettering & Logo Texture
Run your fingertips over the front face of the carton box. The product title and the corporate Cipla logo feature raised tactile embossing. Letters and graphic icons must feel distinctly raised to the touch rather than flatly printed.
2. Security QR Code Scanning
A dedicated QR code is printed on the security sticker. Scan it using a smartphone camera and follow the generated link. It opens the validation page where you can confirm the legitimacy of your specific batch.
3. Scratch-Off Security Code
Next to the QR code on the sticker is a silver protective coating. Gently scratch it off with a coin to reveal a unique secret code. If prompted by the validation page, enter the revealed characters manually.
4. Branded Holographic Seal
The carton flap is sealed with a holographic sticker containing Cipla branding. Rotate the pack under direct light: the hologram should dynamically reflect colors while the logo displays visual depth.
5. Batch Number & Date Matching
The end flap of the box clearly displays: Batch Number (Batch No.), Manufacturing Date (Mfg. Date), and Expiration Date (Exp. Date). Take out the bottle or blister pack and verify that all details printed inside match the outer box exactly.
6. Tamper-Evident Ring & Protective Membrane
The plastic bottle cap features an attached safety ring that breaks with a snap upon first opening. Underneath the cap, the bottle neck is hermetically sealed with a foil membrane. Do not use the medication if the ring or membrane is broken.
7. Direct Quality Assurance Inquiry
If you suspect product counterfeiting, submit a direct inquiry to the manufacturer. Take clear photographs of all box sides showing the Batch No. and email customer support at contactus@cipla.com or globalresponse@cipla.com (official portal: cipla.com).
